Despite the fact that 1 in 5 people in the US will experience a mental illness at some point in their life, there is still a strong social stigma that prevents people from seeking the help they need. By the time that they do seek help, they often end up in an Emergency Room that is already too full.
oscER is a mobile app that can be used to privately seek information when someone is in mental health crisis, including legal info and resources, placement resources and answers to many commonly-asked questions.
oscER is also available in all of San Diego’s threshold languages (Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Arabic and Farsi) to help underserved populations.

What People are Saying
“Whether I’m in crisis or not, the oscER app always has what I need to keep grounded and calm. I like the soundscapes because I don’t have to be online to use them. I can use it to relax during the day or fall asleep at night. To me, it sounds like the ocean as if I were in Pacific Beach with sand in my bed.”

“Last summer my young adult son and I were grateful to have downloaded the NAMI San Diego oscER app on our phones. A severe panic attack brought us to the emergency room. It was only the use of the oscER soundscapes and flute music that we were able to calm down enough to negotiate the stress and struggle of a psychiatric emergency. Thank you oscER!”
